Digitalisation is transforming the automotive industry at an unprecedented pace. Connected vehicles, software-defined architectures, electrification and increasingly complex supply chains are creating new opportunities, but also new cybersecurity challenges that demand highly specialised talent.

At RDT, we believe the future of industry will not be defined solely by technological advances, but by the people capable of developing, protecting and continuously improving them. That is why we are pleased to collaborate in the new Master's Degree in Industrial Cybersecurity Applied to the Automotive Industry, jointly organised by EUNEIZ and Basque Automotive Manufacturing Center (BaM).

This initiative represents another step in strengthening the connection between academia and industry, helping to prepare professionals for one of the most critical challenges facing modern engineering: ensuring the resilience, safety and security of increasingly connected industrial and automotive ecosystems.

Building the Future of Automotive Cybersecurity

Industrial cybersecurity is no longer a discipline reserved for a small group of specialists. It has become an essential capability for any organisation operating in digitalised and interconnected environments. As it continues to evolve, the need for professionals capable of combining engineering, operational, and cybersecurity expertise will only grow.

At RDT, we are proud to collaborate in initiatives that help develop this talent and strengthen the capabilities that industry will require in the years ahead. Our participation, promoted alongside EUNEIZ and BaM, will provide students with a practical perspective on the current challenges facing industrial cybersecurity and the automotive sector.

As part of this collaboration, Marc Kienzler, Director of our Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (COE), shares his experience and vision on some of the most relevant challenges facing the industry today.

Cybersecurity will have to be implemented across the entire industry, now.

Marc Kienzler, Director the Cybersecurity CoE

This reflection highlights the growing need to integrate cybersecurity as a strategic capability within industry and to train professionals who are prepared to address the challenges of an increasingly connected world.
