Critical Asset Monitoring over Fibre Optics
A proven fibre-optic-based solution that enables the anticipation and prevention of failures in critical assets before they occur. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Faraday, Bragg, Brillouin, Raman, and Rayleigh, combined with advanced digitalisation techniques, our systems offer a comprehensive, real-time view of the condition of high-value assets. We monitor and optimise infrastructure performance even in the most challenging environments. Our expertise and commitment to R&D&I—exemplified by the technology developed for the integrated management of CAMOS power cables by RDT Lumiker—demonstrate our capability to monitor any asset with precision.

Real-time monitoring, passive systems, and data analysis for the integrated management of critical infrastructure
By integrating sensors throughout the fibre network, we gain a holistic view of asset health and enable early anomaly detection. This proactive approach not only minimises the risk of catastrophic failure, but also optimises maintenance processes, extends asset lifespan, and significantly reduces operational costs.
Key Advantages of Fibre Optic Technology for Infrastructure Monitoring
- Passive System: fibre optic technology is inherently passive, requiring no active electronic components. This minimises maintenance needs and ensures greater durability and long-term reliability.
- Resistant to Harsh Environments: ATEX-compliant and highly resistant to extreme weather and corrosion, fibre optics are ideal for industrial and outdoor applications, even in the most demanding conditions.
- Excellent Electromagnetic Compatibility: unaffected by electromagnetic interference, optical fibre guarantees high-quality, accurate data transmission—even in environments with sensitive electronic equipment.
- Maintenance-Free Operation: with no electrical or direct-contact components, fibre optics require minimal maintenance, reducing operational costs and improving system uptime.
- Real-Time Monitoring: the technology enables continuous, real-time monitoring of assets, providing instant data on infrastructure status and allowing rapid response to anomalies or potential failures.
- High-Resolution Data Collection: thanks to the ability to integrate multiple sensors along the fibre, detailed data can be collected from numerous points, enhancing analytical accuracy and decision-making.
- Remote Software Updates: fibre optic-based systems support remote software updates, ensuring the platform remains current without the need for on-site intervention.
- Sustainability: fibre optics offer a sustainable alternative to traditional technologies, with greater energy efficiency, longer service life, and reduced waste generation.

BASF (Broadband Acoustic Sensing Fiber):
BASF is a monitoring solution developed to detect minor leaks or unplanned intrusions, identify asset displacement or movement caused by seismic activity or nearby construction, analyse the dynamic capacity of power cables and the presence of fibres, and provide continuous 24/7 monitoring of asset condition to detect and locate faults at an early stage. This enables the prevention of further damage and helps avoid costly repairs. The system also performs dynamic structural analysis and monitors for extreme impacts or intense natural disasters, offering a comprehensive and proactive approach to infrastructure management.
BAST (Time-Division Multiplexed Acoustic Sensing):
This product is ideal for rapid measurements and/or installations requiring a large number of sensors per channel, due to the specific characteristics of the layout. It is capable of handling up to 100 sensors simultaneously with exceptional accuracy, ensuring reliable data acquisition for complex monitoring applications. Available in both compact and rack-mounted configurations, the BAST interrogator delivers real-time data in any environment.
Portable BRAGG:
A portable monitoring system based on Bragg fibre optic sensors, designed for measuring deformation, vibration, temperature, tilt, and other parameters, enabling fast and accurate inspections in remote or hard-to-access locations. It is ideal for applications such as condition assessment of civil structures, industrial process monitoring, and mobile asset surveillance.
Bragg grating sensors:
A product designed to measure parameters such as pressure, temperature, strain, and hydrogen concentration. These sensors offer high accuracy, are resistant to electromagnetic interference, and can be multiplexed along a single optical fibre, significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs.
